Welcome to my web page. I hope it is a useful source of information for you.
Please contact me if you have any questions.
I would just like to give you some information about my education, life, and
experiences. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Alfred
University. I also have a Master of Arts degree in Secondary Education from
Ohio University. I received my ELL certification from Ohio University as well.
I was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Soulouba, Mali for two years. There I built
small dams for rice production, and built and improved wells for drinking water
and gardening. I also taught ELL at Radford University and Virginia Tech.
Before coming to Patrick Henry, I taught ELL in Saudi Arabia for seven years.
While I was there, I got a chance to do a lot of traveling, which I enjoyed
very much. I also met my wife, Tima, in Saudi Arabia. We got married in her
home country of Ethiopia in 2000. We have a son, Isaac, who was born in January
of 2006. I have been teaching ELL at Patrick Henry since February of 2004, and
it has been a great experience for me. I have enjoyed teaching and getting to
know our students. It has been nice meeting their parents too. It has also
been a lot of fun seeing our ELL students grow in both language ability and maturity.
The best feeling though, is seeing them walk across the stage at the Berglund Center to receive their diplomas.
Remember....You have a chance to make your life better through education.
Don't waste it!!
