Important Information Regarding Graduation:
Rehearsal: June 7, Berglund Center, 2:30PM. Busing will be provided for students from PH to the Berglund Center only.
Graduation Ceremony: June 8, Berglund Center, 10AM
Caps and gowns have been distributed at PH to graduates who have already ordered them.
Request cap/gown purchase from Ms. Patterson in Persinger Hall (540) 853-2296 or call Jostens at 1-800-567-8367.
Students will pick up tickets in the Counseling Office (ten tickets per graduate). Students will be notified when tickets are available for pick up.
More Information for Graduates
- FOR REHEARSAL (6/7), graduates must arrive at the Berglund Center by 2:00. Enter at the Special Events Center by the A-frame blue roof. Graduates may dress casually.
- No one other than graduates will be permitted to attend graduation rehearsal.
- A bus will be available to transport students form PH to the Berglund Center on 6/7 for rehearsal. This is a one-way trip that will leave the PH bus loop at 1:45.
- Graduates need to arrive at the Berglund Center - Special Events Center by 9:00AM
- Graduates should dress professionally. Males...shirt/tie. Females... dress/skirt/dress slacks. No jeans or shorts allowed. Please choose shoes that you can walk in.
- Graduates may only wear the purple cap/gown from Jostens and the cords/stoles given to them by school organizations. No other regalia is allowed.
- Cap decorations are allowed, but must be appropriate and must not increase the height of the cap.
- Graduates must maintain their assigned seat/order in line.
- Please do not bring personal items with you to the Special Events Center. Leave those items with your family or friends. No purses, no lanyards/keys, no cell phones unless you have a pocket to put it in.
Information for Guests
- Coliseum doors 1, 2 and 12 will open for spectators at 9:00AM. Graduation will begin at 10:00AM.
- Guests requiring handicapped accessibility should use Door #2.
- ALL guests MUST have a ticket to enter (even babies/small children).
- Graduation will be livestreamed on the Roanoke City Public Schools Facebook page and will be available for viewing after the event.
- No air horns or other noisemakers are allowed.
- No balloons or other large items that will obstruct the view of others will be allowed.
- All bags are subject to search, and security measures will be in place.
- A professional photographer will take pictures of each graduate as they cross the stage and a digital copy will be provided free of charge. Guests will not be allowed to gather in the aisles to take pictures.
