The Washington Post ranks PH high in their “America's Most Challenging High Schools for 2017.”

The Washington Post with its latest rankings of America's Most Challenging High Schools of 2016-2017 placed PH 704 out of 2,369 high schools in the country.

The Washington Post composes an challenge index that takes the total number of Advanced Placement given and divides by the number of seniors who graduated in May or June. Public schools that achieved a ratio of at least 1.00, (tests in 2016/graduates) were put on the national list.  They rank the schools in order of that ratio.
