COVID-19 Closure Information

I'm going to use this page to post information for my caseload concerning the COVID-19 school closures. I'll update this page as new information comes in--assume that what I have written here is the most recent information.

Mr C's students: check his teacher page for information related to those classes.

​UPDATE​ as of March 18, 2020:
​Because our special education department is so large, we have reduced the number of days that each of us will be in the building. I will be at PH on the following days:
​Thursday, 3/19
​Wednesday, 3/25

I will continue to attempt to contact the parents of students on my caseload by phone and through email. Email is still the best way to reach me.

UPDATE As of March 16, 2020:

There will be staff in the building dailly, but we are keeping a rotating skeleton crew. 
I will be in the building on the following days:
Thursday, 3/19
Tuesday, 3/24
Friday, 3/27

Until we return for normal operation, IEP meetings will be held through conference callsI will be in contact through phone if I need to schedule a meeting.

If a student needs a one-on-one conference, tutoring, or support while we're closed, I can set up a time to conference over phone or through Zoom video conferencing. I don't believe Zoom requires you to install a program on your computer or make an account. The free version of Zoom allows for 40 minute conferences, but I will work with you to make sure that you get enough support at home if necessary.

Until we reconvene, the best way to reach me is through email at bspiker@rcps.info or through the contact form I have posted here on my teacher page.

If you do not have a computer or Internet access, please call the school at 853-2255. I will be in the building periodically, and will receive the message.

Teachers will be in the building on a part-time basis. Check with your individual teachers to see when they will be in the building.
