Principal, Patrick Henry High School

Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians,

Welcome Patriots!  It is my pleasure to welcome you to Patrick Henry High School for the 2017-2018 school year.  We hope you had a safe and restful summer.  I am grateful and honored to work with so many amazing students who will become a successful part of the PHHS legacy of academic, athletic, and excellence.

PHHS starts with the students, parents, and the community.  Our faculty, staff, and administration are here to maximize the potential of all students that walk through these doors through strong teaching, learning, communication, and strong relationships.   From the moment they step foot as a freshman to the last steps of graduation we are ready to provide our students with educational experiences in a caring and positive school climate with a “Commitment to Excellence.”

We were named one of America’s top 700 high schools in the nation by the Washington Post in 2017 with our great gains in Dual Enrollment and AP advanced classes.  Our athletic teams showed their dominance in every way including the Two Time Region 5A State Girls Swim Team Champions (2016, 2017) and the 2017 Region 5A State Boys Lacrosse Team Champions!  Our Fine Arts programs were first rate throughout the year along with our clubs and outside extra-curricular activities.  PH has outstanding teachers that have won the RCPS Teacher of the Year (2015, 2016, 2017) three years in a row.  We are very proud of our tremendous strides, outstanding student achievement, and accomplishments.  This is Patriot Pride at its best.

As we move forward, we will increase our drive, determination, and expectations in everything that we do.  I encourage all students to seek out an extra-curricular activity such as sports, clubs, arts, dances, etc. to enhance the overall experience of PHHS and display their talents inside and outside the classroom. Becoming involved in their school will create a sense of satisfaction, patriot pride and accomplishment that they will be able to use in other ventures throughout their lives.  PHHS proved once again that we are second to none last year that made PH one of the region, state, and nation’s best high schools.

We look forward in seeing our students for the 2017-2018 school year.  Please check our website for current events, stories about our great students, important dates, and other business.   If you have any questions about scheduling, academics, activities, or any other concern please contact us.

Thank you and GO PATRIOTS!!
