PATRICK HENRY HIGH SCHOOL

Senior News – Class of 2019

Dear Class of 2019 and Parents:

Congratulations Class of 2019 on reaching this special time in your lives and becoming part of the tradition of Patriot Pride and excellence!  We are proud of each Senior and wish to make the end of the year memorable.  The information in this packet should help you understand the events, expectations, and schedule.  Please discuss this information and see that each senior meets all academic, financial, and attendance obligations.  Pay particular attention to the ticket information in the packet.

As a reminder, students must complete required class credits and SOL verified credits to earn a diploma.  Only students earning a diploma will be recognized in the June ceremony. We also want to remind you that Patrick Henry students who earn their final graduation credits during summer school will have a graduation ceremony in August.  Those members of the Class of 2019 will not participate in the June graduation; however, they may have one ticket to attend the June 5th ceremony at the Berglund Center.  If there are any questions regarding your student’s graduation status, or if extra tutorial assistance is needed, please contact his or her school counselor or teachers immediately.

A number of students have outstanding academic or financial obligations.  Some students needing to recover credit from first semester have not completed the required PLATO program.  Please see page 4 for information regarding outstanding financial obligations owed the school.  Seniors are also reminded that participating in Baccalaureate and Senior Awards on Sunday, May 19, 2019, and participating in commencement practice on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 are mandatory attendance obligations (see page 2).  Students meeting all requirements will be eligible to participate in the June commencement ceremony.

We are proud of our students for the commitment and perseverance shown in completing this milestone of their educational journey.  It is our honor and pleasure to celebrate their achievements and wish them well in their future endeavors.

Sincerely,

Kathleen Duncan, Principal
