This is Our Best Year Ever!
They've done it again! For the second year in a row, the Patrick Henry High School Forensics Team has won the Regional Championship. Of ten categories, Patrick Henry had eight regional champions.  The ten students who placed in the top 3 at regionals will now compete in the State Championship. You may remember the Forensics Team won the State Championship last year.

Performances March 13, 14, 20, and 21, 7:30 p.m. Public Performances $10.00 adults, $5.00 students and seniors. March 17 & 18, 3rd Block and Bridge, Student Performances, $5.00 tickets with teachers' permission. Select listen to hear the audio clip.

Duke’s Summer Academy for High School Students... 3/16-5/1
Will be held July 11,  through July 31, 2015. Current freshman, sophomores, or juniors may apply. This is a three week non-credit-bearing program. Students may apply online or by mail. The deadline to apply is May 1, 2015. For more information about the programs and access to the application please select Duke.edu.

Duke’s Summer College for High School Students... 3/16-5/1
Will be held July 5, through July 31, 2015. This is a four week credit-bearing program for current sophomores and juniors. Students may apply on line or by mail. The deadline to apply is May 1, 2015. For more information about the programs and access to the application please select Duke.edu.

HAC Access... 2/27-3/20
Parents will not be able to view the report card page in HAC until March 20th after 3:30 p.m., due to report card preparations for the 3rd marking period.

PH Parent-Teacher Conference Day Rescheduled... 3/14-24
Tuesday, March 24, 2015.  The hours for the conferences will be 3:45 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.  If you have any questions please contact the school at 853-2255.

PH Prom and Senior Day 2015... 4/18
The prom will be held on Saturday, April 18th, 2015 at the Patrick Henry Hotel. The cost is $50.00 a person.  Seniors will attend at no cost. Any student who is suspended during the second semester will not be permitted to attend. Students who have outstanding financial obligations (student fees, lost/damaged textbooks or library books, fundraiser obligations, etc.) will not be permitted to attend. Also, seniors will not be permitted to participate in any senior activities if financial obligations are not satisfied. Please contact your hall principal or the bookkeeper if you have any questions or financial difficulty.

VA State Parks Youth Conservation Corps... 122-4/30
Virginia State Parks Youth Conservation Corps is looking for crew members ages 14-17 to enhance Virginia State Parks.  For three weeks crew members will work in the parks on weekdays, participate in environmental education programs weeknights, and endure adventure training on weekends.  Crew members earn a $500 stipend. The application website is available in the Career Center.  The application deadline is May 1, 2015

Senator Mark Warner invites high school and middle school students, their parents, and guidance counselors to Academy Day 2015. Saturday, March 28th. Select view for additional information.

Citadel Open House... 2/27-4/3
The Citadel will be holding an open house April 17, 2015. Juniors interested in the Citadel will spend the afternoon on the campus and learn about the admissions process, financial aid, academics, athletics, ROTC, and other aspects of the Citadel experience.  Juniors need to register for the event before April 3, 2015. Hampton University High School Day... 3/2-20
THe 37th annual High School Day will be held April 3, 2015.  The day will include tours of the campus, information about the school and campus activities.  Students will also be able to speak with professors to receive information on your intended major.  Select view to register.

Legally Blond Theatre Production... 2/9-3/22

UVA School of Architecture... 2/9-4/3
The School of Architecture at the University of Virginia invites sophomores and juniors to come and learn about their program of study. Two information sessions and tours are planned. The first is Monday February 16, 2015 at 12:30 p.m. The second one is April 6, 2015 at 12:30 p.m.

UVA School of Engineering Open House... 2/27-3/21
Saturday March 21, 2015 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  This event provides students the opportunity to meet engineering faculty, tour buildings and labs. Former astronaut Kathy Thornton will speak on the “Sights and Sounds of Space Flight.” This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about the nature and impact of engineering in the modern world and to see the many ways in which engineers make a difference. VCU School of Dentistry... 2/9-4/30
VCU School of Dentistry has two summer programs for high school students who are interested in dentistry or dental hygiene. The application can be found at www.dhsd.vcu.edu. Select view for additional information.
